You will be part of an Infrastructure Team responsible for the development, maintenance and administration of the Linux platform (moving from Suse to Ubuntu).

 

As part of the job you'll be expected to produce design documents, introduce and record changes as well as work instructions.

 

Within the team, you'll be able to develop further as we are embracing devops, kubernetes, kafka, hashi corp tools, ansible and many other interesting technologies.

 

You will be required to carry out routine system administrative tasks such as patching, back-ups, user account creation and administration, performance anomaly resolution and system defect identification.

 

On top, you'll be involved into IT Security applicable to Linux based systems, including implementation and management of security and audit policy.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Linux experience as a System Administrator/Engineer (ideally based on Suse/Ubuntu/CentOS)
  • Experience of using OS/app deployment automation tools, preferably ansible.
  • Familiarity with the devops tools such as git, jenkins, docker, kubernetes, consul, vault, etc.
  • Integration between the systems based on web services.
  • Ability to write documentation detailing routine system administrative tasks such as restoring services from back-ups and swapping out un-serviceable hardware
  • Root cause analysis and debugging to aid in resolution of functional and performance related defects.
  • Excellent Linux system administrative skills required and a passion for technology are essential.
  • Amazon AWS and Google cloud skills are nice to have, but not mandatory as you'll get chance to work with those directly.
  • If you have additional experience with scripting tools such as Python or Bash this would also be desirable.
